MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon Farmer’s Market will highlight apples this Saturday, from 9 a.m. to noon, on the Public Square in downtown Mount Vernon.

The weekly market will feature cooking demonstrations which attendees can sample. Recipes with ingredients that can be purchased at the market will also be available.

Market attendees will also have the opportunity to take a survey and register to win a prize. The survey involves questions about the market including frequency of attendance and items purchased. Survey results will be used to improve the market for next year.

In addition to cash, the Mount Vernon Farmer’s Market accepts the Ohio Direction Card (SNAP) and farmers’ market WIC vouchers.

Saturdays in October will be the last opportunity to purchase local foods and talk with local farmers in one central location.
