MOUNT VERNON — As we enter October, our mornings will become increasingly chilly and blustery. Now’s the time to break out our autumn-spice breakfast recipes to help keep us warm during those upcoming crisp mornings.

One breakfast food I particularly enjoy during the autumn months is Cinnamon Spice Scones. These dense, hearty pastries resemble the taste of a muffin and the texture of a biscuit, making them a perfect on-the-go breakfast choice, or a savory brunch to enjoy by the fireplace.
