Bill Davis/News Highland’s Christina Rose, left, earns a kill while teammate Raina Terry (12) looks on during the second set of Thursday’s Knox-Morrow Athletic Conference match against Danville. The Scots won in three sets.

DANVILLE — They didn’t set out to embarrass the Danville Blue Devils. They’re just that good.

The Highland Scots sat most of their starters after the first set of Thursday’s Knox-Morrow Athletic Conference match against the Blue Devils. Using mostly backups and junior varsity players, the Scots completed the task and won, 25-8, 25-14, 25-16.

Raina Terry, coming off her Highland single-match record of 44 kills on Tuesday, scored 13 before sitting down in Danville. Bridget Oder added three aces, and Krista Walters had four kills.

But the day went to the other players on the team.
