MOUNT VERNON — Knox County Democrats haven’t had a lot to cheer about recently, but the speakers at the party’s annual dinner Tuesday night at the Glenn A. Gallagher Centre did their best to spark their enthusiasm and determination to fight for the values they believe in.

The focus was on next year’s races, with the featured speakers being former Congressman Zack Space, who is running for state auditor; Ken Harbaugh, a Democratic candidate against Bob Gibbs in next year’s Congressional election; and Aftab Pureval, the first Democrat elected clerk of courts in Hamilton County in more than 100 years.
