MANSFIELD — Evelyn P. Weber-Chandler peacefully passed away Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at Hospice of Cincinnati in Blue Ash, Ohio. She was 95.

She was born Nov. 2, 1921, to parents Eugene and Rose (Stull) Payne in Danville, Ohio. She attended St. Vincent High School in Mount Vernon, Ohio. After graduating in 1940, she went to beauty college in Baltimore, Md.

On Dec. 27, 1947, she married George H. Weber and they shared 21 years of marriage until he passed away in 1969. She later met William “Bill” Chandler and they were happily married on June 1, 1991.

Evelyn worked as a beautician in Mount Vernon and opened her own business in Mansfield called “Evelyn’s Beauty Shop.” She later worked 15 years as a dispatcher for United Telephone before retiring.

She was a former hospital volunteer in Westerville. In younger years, she enjoyed bowling and dancing; she always loved to travel, especially cruising.

In addition to her parents, Eugene and Rose Payne, she was preceded in death by first husband, George Weber; her son, Jim Weber, on Oct. 22, 2011; sister Ferol Ferenbaugh; and brothers Clarence Payne, Burt Payne, Don Payne, Jack Payne and Dwight Payne.

Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at Snyder Funeral Home (2553 Lexington Avenue in Mansfield) where the celebration of life funeral service will be held Wednesday, at 11:30 a.m., with an hour of calling prior.
