MOUNT VERNON — Ronald L. Dunn, 79, of Marion, Ohio, and formerly of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, at Presidential Center in Marion, Ohio.

He was born on Oct. 6, 1937, in Butler, Ohio, the son of Ray and Pauline (Simmons) Dunn. Ronald retired in 1999 after 44 years as a truck driver. He worked his last 35 years hauling wood for Brenneman Lumber Company in Mount Vernon.

Ronald attended First Church of the Nazarene in Mount Vernon. He was an avid sports fan, but most importantly he was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Nancy (Charlton) Dunn, whom he married on June 20, 1958; his children, Terri (Scott) Denzien of Temple, Texas, Robert Dunn of Marion, Larry (Sherrie) Dunn of Richwood and Dale (Jessica) Dunn of Lancaster; nine grandchildren, Robyn Patrick, Adam, Logan, Abbie, LeAnna and Luke Dunn, and Cora, Samuel and Ethan Dunn; three great grandchildren, Victoria, Jonah and Kylee Patrick. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Shirley Dunn of Butler.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Dunn.

The family will observe a private burial in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Ronald L. Dunn.
