DANVILLE — The Danville football team has hung its hat on its defense for a long time.

Friday, they performed nearly flawlessly, shutting down a high-powered Sciotoville East squad and rolling to a 42-6 victory at Danville.

“We came out and executed on defense,” said defensive tackle Marshall Stull. “We were a little sloppy in the first half, but we came together in the second. … We had prepared all week. We knew what they would try to do.”

Stull had three of the Blue Devils 12 tackles for loss on the night, and also added one of the three sacks. The senior and his defensive teammates held Sciotoville East to just 73 yards of offense on the night.
