Employees remember the good days at PPG

Pittsburgh Plate Glass finished closing down its Mount Vernon plant 40 years ago. Sunday, people who worked at the plant continued a long-running tradition of holding a reunion picnic to catch up with old friends and trade stories about working for PPG.

Eclipse team gets amazing results

It would be an understatement to say the efforts of the Knox County Solar Eclipse Space Balloon team’s efforts to record the Aug. 21 eclipse were a success. Thanks to careful preparation, outstanding teamwork and mind-boggling timing, the team’s achievement is nothing less than spectacular.

Samantha Scoles/News The dance floor at Ariel-Foundation Park’s Schnormeier Event Center wasn’t big enough for those wanting to dance as Motown Sounds of Touch took the capacity crowd on a musical journey dating back to the late 1950s. Hits from Frankie Valley and the Four Seasons, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and even Prince had music lovers singing and dancing during two hours of non-stop music. The event was part of Foundation Park Conservancy’s Summer Concert Series.
