“This team has a lot of energy and chemistry, and they love to play together.”

Laurie Londot, Utica volleyball coach

UTICA — Last year, the big challenge was the back line. This year, it’s all about what’s up front.

The Utica Redskins are looking to build their offensive attack around sophomore hitter Emily Londot. This season, she will shoulder much more of the responsibility with the departure of seniors Alyson Londot, Carli Conard, Brooke Maxwell, Mattney Yates, Alexa Smitherman and Elizabeth Pritchard.

Graduating five hitters and a setter from a 26-2 team with a dominating offense means lots of changes. The Redskins, however, have plenty to look forward to.

The strength of the team, going into the season, is the back line.
