MOUNT VERNON — Darold R. Currier, 69, Mount Vernon, passed away Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Columbus on April 7, 1948, to the late Donald R. and Doris M. (Roberts) Currier.

Darold was a retired supervisor for I & K Distributing. He was a member of the Columbus Jaycees. Darold enjoyed coaching his sons in all of the sports they played and was a former team director for the Medina Football Association. He could always put a smile on your face with his great sense of humor and he will be remembered for his catch phrase, “It is what it is.” Darold’s greatest passion was spending time with his family, but most of all he loved being with his grandchildren.

Darold is survived by his loving wife of over 43 years, LuAnn (Voit) Currier, whom he married on May 11, 1974; children, Aimee (Bobby) Ferguson of Creston, Jeremy (Jess) Currier of Sunbury and Jamie (Mindy) Currier of Lodi; grandchildren, Jordan and Joel Price, Dylan and Austin Ferguson, Jacob Underwood, and Levi, Mia, and Abby Currier; sister, Donna Green of Columbus; and his canine companion, Sadie.

In following with Darold’s wish, there will not be any service. The family will have a private memorialization at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital, 452 West 10th Ave, Columbus, OH 43210 in Darold’s memory.
