MOUNT VERNON — For Knox County resident Jesse Cochran, it’s not a hobby.

Saturday racing is a family affair and a way of life. As an intermediate junior dragster racer, the 12-year old Cochran is the third generation of his family to race at Pacemakers Dragway Park. He does not need to go far to find family at the track.

With all of the encouragement, it was an easy choice for Cochran when he decided to take the wheel of his own dragster four years ago. He had already been spending his Saturdays at Pacemakers and he wanted to be a bigger part of it.
