MOUNT VERNON — Outside of Mount Vernon, only one returning area high school golfer reached districts last year.

Max Lepley will begin his senior season as the leader of the Utica Redskins on Saturday, when his team plays in the first Licking County League tournament at The Links at Echo Springs.

Echo Springs is Lepley’s home course — he worked there over the summer — and he’s anxious to take it on as he begins his final attempt at a Division II state bid.
