MOUNT VERNON — The heart of summer is here which means hot, humid weather will be engulfing Knox County, leaving residents thirsty for cold, refreshing drinks. And what’s more rejuvenating than an ice-cold cocktail?
“People’s palates change with the heat and so does their drinking,” Norm Porter, owner of Flappers Bar and Grill, 15 W. High St., told the News. “You can’t go wrong with any of the margaritas and daiquiris; any thing frozen is very popular when it’s so hot. Sometimes, (customers ask), ‘Just make me something different; make me something fruity’ and I love that.”
