This summer, Mount Vernon native and recent Otterbein graduate Steven Meeker Jr. will be presenting three of his original plays at three different New York City theater festivals.

NEW YORK, N.Y. — After graduating from Otterbein University this spring with a degree in acting, Mount Vernon High School graduate Steven Meeker Jr. took the plunge and moved to New York for the summer to showcase his three original plays in three separate midtown New York theater festivals.

Meeker’s three comedic plays center around themes of contemporary dating and the many different situations that couples have to navigate.

His first play, entitled “Battle Lines,” will showcase mid-July at the Riant Theatre’s Strawberry One-Act Festival. According to Meeker, “Battle Lines” is a 15-minute, one-act play about the complexities of entering into a new relationship while in college.
