MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Health Department will not conduct tobacco cessation classes this week due to the Independence Day holiday. This includes the Tuesday class held at Knox Community Hospital as well as the Thursday class held at the health department.

The tobacco cessation classes will resume the week of July 10.

With funding provided by United Way of Knox County, the health department offers weekly cessation classes that include up to 8 weeks of nicotine replacement therapy in the form of patches, lozenges and gum.

Classes are usually held on Tuesdays from 10-11 a.m. in the private dining room at KCH and on Thursdays from 7-8 p.m. in the conference room at the health department. Individual, one-on-one sessions are also available.
