Sarah Poole/News Featured speaker of the 11th Annual Cancer Survivor Recognition event, Cabot Rea, serenades audience members with Frank Sinatra’s “The Way You Look Tonight.”

MOUNT VERNON — It was a fancy night out Thursday evening at Ohio Eastern Star, as Knox Community Hospital’s Center for Cancer Care hosted the 11th Annual Cancer Survivor Recognition event in the Gallagher Center. Featured speaker for the evening was Cabot Rea, retired WCMH TV news anchor of 30 years.

With “Roll Out the Red Carpet” as the evening’s theme, building services staff began the evening by escorting guests from the parking lot to the entrance via a golf cart valet. Event attendees then walked a red-carpet to the entrance and were greeted with carnations, beverages and appetizers. Seavolt’s Studio also offered complementary photography and prints for the event goers.
