MOUNT VERNON — Battle of the Bands will be held Saturday at Ariel-Foundation Park’s Schnormeier Event Center starting at 4 p.m. Admission is free.

Two youth bands will be featured. They include “The Wolves,” a band of cousins who have grown up playing music together. Hailing from Mount Vernon, the band members enjoy playing classic rock and eating Sunday dinners at grandma’s house.

“W.U.V.A.L.” has rocked audiences all over Ohio, from the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland to street fairs in Columbus and dozens of other festivals and parties. The band calls Columbus home.

Cash prizes will be awarded: First place is $400 and second place is $300.

Please note: The adult portion of the event, which was to start at 7:30 p.m., has been cancelled due to lack of participation.

Snacks will be available for purchase. No outside food or beverage is allowed inside the Event Center. Smoking and pets are also prohibited.
