FREDERICKTOWN — David L. Barkschat, 60, of Fredericktown, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Feb. 26, 1957, in Grove City, Pennsylvania, to the late Frederick and Rosalie (Marvin) Barkschat. He was a 1975 graduate of Fredericktown High School. David was employed for over 22 years at Guttman Oil/Brightstar Propane and was a member of Christ the King Community Church. He enjoyed working on Art and Peggy Baumberger’s farm and taking care of his own lawn. But most of all, David loved the time he spent with his family.

He is survived by his wife, of 39 years, Brenda (Albert) Barkschat; two daughters, Jenny (Rob) Armstrong, Rebecca Barkschat; his grandchildren, Morgan and Aiden Armstrong; two brothers, Fred (Sue) Barkschat, Karl (Kathy) Barkschat; sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, Erick Barkschat Sr.

Friends may call on Friday, June 23, from 2-4 p.m., at Christ the King Community Church (15598 McClelland Road, Fredericktown, OH 43019). A service will follow beginning at 4 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Lucian Baker officiating.
