MOUNT VERNON — Strategic planning was one of the topics discussed at Monday’s meeting of the Mount Vernon school board.

Superintendent Bill Seder told the News on Tuesday the topic was raised because the Ohio School Facilities Commission was recently here to reassess the district’s needs and to talk about the most recent Master Facilities Plan, which was developed in 2008. Seder said he and board members feel it is time to take a look at the process to create a new, comprehensive five-year plan which would encompass academic goals, facilities and finances. The process, he said, would certainly include community and stakeholder input. No specific timeline regarding the plan has been set.
