With the registration for the draft completed on June 4, the nation’s young men waited to find out how many would be chosen for service. The final count of the number registered in Knox County was 2,147, the Daily Banner reported on June 11.

On June 13, the paper reported that the Knox County quota would be 60. Knox was grouped in a three-county district with Coshocton and Holmes counties, with a total quota of 156. The district had credit for 29 enlistees, so the real total would be 127.
