MOUNT VERNON — What was planned as an attempt to explain to landlords the processes involved in being part of the Metropolitan Housing Authority’s housing voucher program, and maybe to encourage more participation in the program, never got to that point.

The program was held at the Mount Vernon Public Library and attracted 23 people, although whether all were landlords or if any were landlords interested in participating in the voucher program, was unclear.

The new executive director of the Knox County Metropolitan Housing Authority office, Jennifer Ebeling, said she thought it would be good to talk about the program with landlords and how there have not been any changes in regulations since she started here Oct. 1, 2016.
