Work on the farm replaced work in Washington for U.S. Rep. Bob Gibbs recently.

“I’m not sure how much rest I got,” he said.

Back in Washington, Gibbs said tax reform is the coming big issue, but he said the House worked on the repeal of the Dodd-Frank banking bill.

“It had unintended consequences. Community banks got hit by a lot of new mandates that should have been addressed at big banks,” Gibbs told the News.

He said they are insisting on preserving the Durbin Amendment, which protects against excessive debit card fees.
