JOHNSTOWN — A funeral service for Hazel C. (Perrine) Rice, 88, of Johnstown, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Law-Baker Funeral Home. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, and 10-11 a.m. prior to the funeral service on Thursday at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica.

Ms. Rice passed away on June 9, 2017 at her residence. She was born on Aug. 28, 1928, in Sutton, W.Va., to the late Grover Cleveland and Nodie Ellen (Dean) Perrine.

Hazel was a member of the Newark Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was an artist and loved playing music. She was a member of the Licking County Art Association and the Licking County Aging Program.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Karen “Candy” and Mike Pugh, Pamela Strominger and Vickey Rice; grandchildren, Tyson Stroup, Jill Strominger, Mitchell Rice, Tanner Stroup, Anthony Strominger, Nicholas Bartoe and James Rice; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Richard Rice; brothers, Jesse, Jennings, Jewell, Geoff and Arnold Perrine; and sister, Mary Lawrence.
