MOUNT VERNON — Setting a new school record, every one of the Mount Vernon Middle School eighth-grade Spanish students who took the National Spanish 1 Exam earned medals.

“I am very proud of them!” exclaimed teacher Dena Hooley. “This is probably a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I’ve been teaching 25 years and never before had every student win a medal.”
