MOUNT VERNON — Anna E. Bartlett, 99, of Mount Vernon, died Thursday, June 1, 2017, at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon following a brief illness. Anna was born Oct. 19, 1917, in Mount Vernon, to Christopher and Mary (Ridenour) Baldwin and had spent her lifetime in Knox County. She had served as a 4-H advisor for 25 years and had taught knitting and tailoring at the Knox County Career Center.

Surviving are her daughter, Margy Lea of Fredericktown; granddaughters, Suzan (Tony Hooper) Lea and Allison (Eric Hernlund) Lea; great-grandson, Charles “Charlie” Lea-Hooper; her sister, Edith Thompson; brother-in-law, Thomas Ray; sister-in-law, Eleanor Bartlett; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Bartlett Jr.; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Virginia Baldwin; sisters and brother-in-law, Doris and Walter Shuff and Mary Frances Ray; brother-in-laws, Carl Thompson, Frank Bartlett and Dan (Marie) Bartlett.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside funeral service will be Monday, June 5, at 2 p.m., at the Morris Chapel Cemetery.
