MOUNT VERNON — This month’s First Friday will include some martial arts action and a fundraiser to help out the Knox County Kids Succeed (KiCKS) program assist aspiring martial artists make their dream a reality with scholarships.

The fundraising event this Friday at Lashley Training Facility on 316 S. Main St. will include a raffle and silent auction with an array of donated items as well as an open mat event with demonstrations to educate the community on how martial arts and the KiCKS program can help keep young people fit physically and mentally with discipline that challenges both the mind and body. The entire event will last from 5-9 p.m.
