MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Board of Commissioners will hold the final public hearing Thursday on a proposed sales tax increase. The meeting will include information from the board about county funding and expenditures and why a 1/2 percent increase in sales tax is needed in the county.

The News recently discussed funding issues and two of the biggest expenses for the county with Commissioner Thom Collier, County Auditor Jonette Curry and County Administrator Jason Booth.
