MOUNT VERNON — For Tom Corrigan, Pirate’s Cove Pizza owner for the past eight years, pizza making is in his DNA.

“My parents started the Pirate’s Cove in 1978 with some other partners. … I grew up here and worked in the business as a kid,” Corrigan told the News.

After going to college and working in banking for about 15 years, Corrigan decided to go back to his roots by moving the restaurant to its current location at 1401 Coshocton Road. Making pizzas with his sister, Kathi Lore, the current manager, and his niece, is his passion.
