NEWARK — Linda L. McMahon Gordon Robinson, 68, of Newark, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017, surrounded by her loving and devoted family, after a passionate attempt to overcome a diagnosis of ovarian cancer. Linda was born Feb. 1, 1949, in Mount Vernon, the daughter of Joseph A. McMahon and Wilma Maffett. Later to be the beloved daughter of Joseph and Marcia (Colopy) McMahon.

Linda was a loving, caring, exceptionally strong-willed woman who cared deeply for her family and always thought of others before herself. She always enjoyed a good laugh. She loved to plant her flowers and watch them flourish and she enjoyed taking care of her immaculate home. She especially loved attending any event that her grandchildren participated in, or just spending time with them.

Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 29 years, Kenneth Carl Gordon, who passed away on Aug. 7, 1994; her father, mother, and a precious nephew, Joseph Michael Colopy.

She leaves behind husband, Clark Eugene Robinson; her devoted “boys,” Jeff (Pam) Gordon, Steve (Tracy) Gordon, and Mike (Lisa) Gordon; brothers, Mike (Paige) McMahon and Mike (Leslie) Colopy; and sister, Kathy Pulver-Newburg. Her seven grandchildren include Tyler (Tiffany) Gordon, Courtney (Grant) Dyar, Michael (Nicole) Gordon, Megan (Bryan) Murphy, Josh Gordon, Chase (Tera) Gordon, and Lindsey Gordon, and six great-grandchildren and an expectant great-granddaughter and her step-mother, Marcia McMahon. Stepchildren include Ammie (Tony) McCann, Mark (Katie) Robinson, and Keri (Kaz) Mulcaky, and three step-grandchildren.

Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon, on Friday, May 19, at the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home in Newark. A funeral service will be held at noon, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St., Pastor Ross Hartley will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. David O’Malley and the staff at The James Cancer Center and to Hospice of Central Ohio, especially for the compassionate care Linda received in her final hours by nurse Lisa.
