MOUNT VERNON — U.S. Rep. Bob Gibbs, R-7, voted against the spending bill voted on in the House of Representatives earlier this month.

Although he told the News he has concerns about the bill, it also has good things, but he wants to send the message that he didn’t just come to Congress to vote on deals negotiated by the leadership behind closed doors.

He said committees should have been working on many of these issues — and voting — in March.
