HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Patricia Ahearn Nisky, 85, of Huntington W.Va., died on April 10, 2017, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington.

She was born Aug. 22, 1931, in Grove City, Pa., to John and Leona (Opre) Ahearn.

Patricia graduated from St. Vincent de Paul High School in 1949 and from Mt. Vernon Business School in 1950. She retired from American National Can.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Paul, whom she married in June of 1951; daughters, Christine and (Dr. Alan) Waldman of Gainesville, Florida, and Eileen and (Scott) Hess of Chicago; sons, Paul and (Kim) Nisky of Huntington, W.Va., and Mark and (Deanna) Nisky of Worthington, Ohio; brothers, John and (Caroline) Ahearn of Brodheadsville, Pa., and Donald and (Ellen) Ahearn of Marietta, Ga.; and sister, Lola Schewe of Hot Springs, Ark. Patricia is also survived by six grandchildren, Jon and Emily Waldman, Charles John (C.J.) and Michael Hess, and Matthew and Maria Nisky, as well as 28 nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian burial will be held June 3, at 11 a.m., at St. Vincent de Paul in Mount Vernon, Ohio. A funeral luncheon will follow for friends and family at St. Vincent de Paul School.

Per her wishes Patricia has been cremated, and her ashes will be buried with her husband’s in a Veteran’s cemetery upon his death.

Patricia was a deeply religious person. She was positive, embraced life in all its facets, and always had a kind word for everyone she came in contact with.

Donations in Patricia’s name can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Columbus, Ohio, on behalf of Matthew and Maria Nisky.
