• Bill Davis/News East Knox’s Cade Finnell (5) looks to pitch to Highland’s Scotty Adkins during the third inning of Wednesday’s Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference game. The Bulldogs won, 3-0.

HOWARD — Win or lose, Callie Finnell is there.

East Knox pitcher Cade Finnell’s younger sister helps out every game. In the end, after the team huddle, Cade carries Callie off the field.

“She means the world to me,” Cade Finnell said. “She brings a lot of joy to us. She motivates us every day. We want to go out and get a win for her.”

The East Knox Bulldogs have been winning. A lot.

Now, for the first time since joining the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference, East Knox can claim first place by itself in the division.

“It’s been a long time since East Knox can say we’re on top,” Ethan Beckett said. “I think it’s our time this year. I can’t believe I’m part of the ride.”
