HOWARD — Quietly, the East Knox Bulldogs have become a contender in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference baseball race.

East Knox boosted its record to 7-2 after a pair of late-inning victories on Saturday against nonconference foe West Muskingum. The Bulldogs scored in walkoff fashion to win Game 1, 1-0, then scored five runs in the sixth inning of Game 2 to earn an 8-5 victory.

“Our hitting’s been inconsistent. But our clutch hitting’s been good, our pitching’s been good and our defense has been good,” East Knox coach Randy Baugher said.
