NEWARK — East Knox senior Mattea Forshey looked around the Newark High School gym as her All-Star teammates were leaving the court.

It was her last game.

“Cherish it,” is Forshey’s advice to her former Bulldog teammates. “It goes by way too fast.”

Forshey joined three other area players in the girls District 11 All-Star Game on Friday. Six area players were part of the boys game.

Mount Vernon’s Taylor Gregory led all local players with 25 points. She also pulled down 12 rebounds and had six steals as she led the West team to a 94-66 victory.

The score didn’t matter to Gregory. Nor did the personal statistics.
