GREEN VALLEY ROAD — Goats commonly give birth to twins and triplets, but Monday night one of Makayla Frazier’s Nubian goats gave birth to five kids.

“The American Dairy Goat Association told us a Nubian doe having five kids is very rare,” said Makayla’s mother, Laura Frazier. Her father is Brian Frazier.

Makayla, 14, is a member of the Green Valley Giants 4-H Club and has been raising and showing goats since she was 9.

The kids, two bucks and three does, are doing well. The Fraziers are supplementing the mother’s milk and Makayla said she expects they will have to bottle feed for most of the eight weeks until they are weaned.
