FREDERICKTOWN — Marilyn L. Kollas, 80, of Fredericktown, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at the Country Club Rehabilitation Center with her family by her side.

She was born July 10, 1936, in Killbuck, Ohio, to the late Lester and Dessie (Brush) Hammontree. Marilyn was a 1954 graduate of Fredericktown High School. After completing Business College, she was employed at the Pentagon for the Department of the Army. She married her late husband, Ronald “Slim” Kollas, on May 2, 1958 at National City Christian Church in Washington, D.C. After their marriage, Marilyn traveled with her husband and children during his 22 year military career. She enjoyed making numerous kinds of arts and crafts and was a member of the Palmyra Church of Christ.

She is survived by her daughter, Suzan (Kenneth) Graves; three sons, Steven (Patti) Kollas, William Kollas, Jeffrey (Michelle) Kollas; her grandchildren, Vernon (Meghan) Kollas, Robert (Gie) Kollas, Jerimy (Misty) Kollas, Amber (Wayland) West, Christopher Collins, Terry Collins, Shelbi Ronkainen, Nicolas Kollas, Macy Graves, Garrison Graves, Abby Graves, Autumn Graves, Kenneth Graves; 15 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Judith (Patrick) Zachmeyer; her niece, Rhonda (Jeff) Ries; and her nephew, David (Martha) Zachmeyer.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald “Slim” Kollas and an infant son.

Friends may call Thursday, April 6, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Palmyra Church of Christ where a service will follow beginning at 11:30 a.m. with Troy Northrop officiating. A private burial will follow at Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
