MOUNT VERNON — After an executive session to discuss the matter, the Knox County Career Center Board of Education on Thursday approved new three-year contracts for teachers and non-certified employees, and granted said employees a 2 percent raise in base pay.

Treasurer Tracey Elliott told the News on Friday there was a “nice spirit of collaboration and communication” throughout the negotiation process.
