MOUNT VERNON — Women’s heart health was the focus of Knox Community Hospital’s 10th Annual Go Red For Women event, hosted at the Center for Rehabilitation and Wellness on Tuesday. Women, dressed in red, received blood pressure readings, professional massages, listened to speeches and ate a heart-healthy lunch of cucumber salad and baked pita chips.

While the ladies lunched, registered dietitian at Knox Community Hospital Natalie Brenneman gave an informative speech about how to create a daily, heart-healthy diet. Brenneman discussed the importance of incorporating whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables into meals.
