MOUNT VERNON — Ruth Anna Beach Jockisch, born and raised in Mount Vernon, passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at Whispering Hills Care Center in Mount Vernon, at the age of 94 with those she loved present.

She was born April 23, 1922, at home on Dennison Avenue to Anna Olga (DeBolt) and Earl Beach. She graduated from Mount Vernon Sr. High in 1940 and went on to graduate from Beauty School in Mansfield.

Ruth was a very active individual over her many years including school and extracurricular activities for her daughter, CCL, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Euchre Club, Birthday Club, active at Station Break, served on the Election Board, and many other activities. She was a lifelong member of the Mulberry St. United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her only daughter, Mary Jockisch Muggy of Mesa, Ariz., along with her children, Samantha (Sammy) Muggy of Mesa, Ariz., Gordon (Gordy) and Alisa Muggy of the Philippines, Garrett Muggy of Mesa, Ariz., Andrea (Andy) and husband Ryan Jennings of San Tan Valley, Ariz., Jessika (Jessy) Muggy of Mesa, Ariz., and Gavin Muggy of Mesa, Ariz.; great-grandchildren (Zak, Wyatt, Ethan, Tatum, Sienna, Timmy, and Owen); nephews, Tom and Lori Beach of Colorado, and Bob and Mitzi Beach of Kansas.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Russell Jockisch, in November of 1975 and her only brother, Robert Earl Beach, in January of 2014.

Friends may call Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the Mulberry Street United Methodist Church from noon to 2 p.m. A funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. with Rev. Warren Outhwaite officiating. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery.
