FREDERICKTOWN — Fredericktown Local Schools is accepting names of students who will be attending kindergarten for the 2017-18 school year. Call the elementary school at 740-694-2781, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to pre-register. When calling to pre-register, be prepared to give the following information: Child’s full name, parent names, mailing address, phone number and child’s date of birth.

Registration for those who have pre-registered will be Friday, April 21, in the elementary building. Packets will be mailed out in March to those who have pre-registered. A parent or legal guardian must bring the child and the required paperwork on the day of registration.

Note: It is a state law that the child must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 1, 2017, to be eligible to begin kindergarten.

Parents will need to supply the following on the day of registration:

•The child’s official birth certificate (not souvenir copy) which will be copied and returned;

•Immunization records or objection to immunization letter;

•The child’s social security card (optional);

•Proof of residence (utility bill or purchase/rental agreement); and

•Custody papers if applicable.

The Fredericktown Board of Education requires this paperwork to be submitted or the child will not be able to attend school.
