Virgil Shipley/News The former Starbright Car Wash on the southern edge of South Gay Street was demolished on Wednesday. According to Kim Rose, president of the Mount Vernon Development Co., owner of the property, attempts were made to repurpose the building, however, “Given its unique design and structure, there was not a reasonable solution readily available.” The property will be used as parking for the bike path, the Chamber of Commerce and Kenyon College, until more definitive plans are made. “We are pleased with how the removal has opened up an appealing view of the Kokosing River and the new bike path bridge.”
