BELLVILLE — William R. Wirick passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, in OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 64.

Bill was born May 31, 1952, in Mount Vernon, to Robert C. and Ruth (Dunlap) Wirick. Following his graduation from Fredericktown High School, he proudly served his country by joining the U.S. Army. He continued his service with the Air National Guard and retired in 2012 after a combined 37 years of service.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Wirick of Bellville; two sons, William T. “Bill” (April) Wirick of Bellville and Kyle Wirick (fiancée Melissa Michalski) of Mansfield; PawPaw’s boys (grandsons), Liam Wirick and Collin Wirick of Bellville; mother, Ruth Wirick of Fredericktown; sister, Charlotte (Robert) White of Florida; sisters-in-law, Shirley (Robert) McAuley and Rhonda (Mark) Carver; brother-in-law, Randy (Heather) Kochheiser; many nieces and nephews with whom he was very close; mother-in-law, Genny Kochheiser of Bellville; along with numerous extended family members and close friends.

In addition to his father, Robert Wirick, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Dixie Wirick; brother, Robert “Bobby” Wirick; and father-in-law, Lawrence Kochheiser.

Friends may call 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home (81 Mill Road) where a funeral service celebrating his life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday. Pastor Mike Stine will officiate and burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery with military honors performed by American Legion Post 535 of Bellville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to Clear Fork Alliance Church, Worthington Twp-Butler Rescue Squad, or Akron Children’s Hospital NICU may be made at the funeral home.
