HOWARD — Susan “Susie” M. Dancy, 54, of Howard, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born Sept. 1, 1962, in Mount Kisco, New York, the daughter of Charles and Alice (Crago) Kneen. Susie was a graduate of Youngstown State University earning a degree in Early Childhood Education. Upon graduating she was employed as a manager of Early Learning Centre and Imaginarium Toy Center.
Susie moved on to become a sales representative for Ty Inc., Brio Company and Demdaco. As of recent, she was a Driveline store merchandiser and guide for Eagle Rock Tour Bus. Her creative ability led to the opening of her own shop called Painted Wren where she proudly showed her artistic creation of the “Stamping Up” series of cards, repurposed furniture and crafting gifts.
She is survived by her husband, Jamie Dancy, whom she married on April 16, 1988; five brothers, Tim (Linda) Kneen of Canfield, Joe (Sandra) Kneen of Phoenix, Arizona, Hal (Nancy) Kneen of Columbus, John (Debbie) Kneen of Nashport and Bob (Connee Sue) Kneen of North Canton; three sisters-in-law, Cyndi (Don) Layton of Bogart, Georgia, Lora (Stu) Moulin of Atlanta, Georgia and Andrea (Joe) Lennon of Wilmington, Delaware. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Nancy (Sam) Wolford of Gainesville, Georgia; step mother-in-law, Monnie Dancy of California; special aunts and uncles, Dr. Bill and Nada Crago of Sebring, Gene and Barbara Simerl of Chillicothe; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, James R. Dancy.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, Jan. 27, beginning at 1 p.m., at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High St., Mount Vernon. Pastor Mark Shoemaker will be officiating.
