FREDERICKTOWN — Maxine Wilma Bishop, 88, of Fredericktown, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at the Woodside Village Nursing Home in Mount Gilead. She was born Sept. 24, 1928, in Marion, Iowa, to the late Emory Clifford and Oneda Mable (Hartle) Gephart and moved to Ohio in her younger years.

Maxine married Robert Bishop, the love of her life, on Feb. 13, 1973, and he preceded her in death in 2006.

Maxine was an active member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Mount Vernon and she retired after 23 years with Lazarus Department Store in Columbus. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Maxine is survived by her daughter, and son-in-law, Susann and Thomas Deatherage of Fredericktown; special friend, Rose Wilson; constant canine companion, Rozie; and two granddogs, Maggie and Amipom.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service celebrating the life of Maxine at Noon on Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Apostolic Christian Church, 1635 Old Delaware Road, Mount Vernon, with Pastor L.J. Harry officiating. A private burial will take place in Forest Cemetery, Fredericktown.
