ROSEVILLE — Charles Ray Roach Sr., 83, of Roseville, Ohio, passed away at 10:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, at his residence after a sudden illness.

He was born Feb. 13, 1933, in Mount Vernon, the son of the late Elmer Ray and Helen Leona (Pratt) Roach.

Chuck was a retired engineer of General Electric in Plainville, Connecticut. He was a member of Rolling Plains United Methodist Church in South Zanesville. In his younger days, he enjoyed fishing and playing golf.

Chuck served our country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Charles R. Roach Jr. of Beavercreek, Timothy and Elizabeth Roach of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and Thomas and Brigitte Roach of Charlotte, North Carolina; and his grandchildren, Louise Elizabeth Roach, Michael Timothy Roach, Logan Thomas Roach and Joshua Charles Wilson Roach.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Jene A. (Skinner) Roach, who passed away March 6, 2009; and two sisters.

In keeping with his wishes, Chuck will be cremated. A memorial service will be 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Rolling Plains United Methodist Church in Zanesville with Pastor John Alice officiating.
