MARENGO — James Franklin “Jamie” House, 87, of Marengo, passed away Friday evening, Dec. 30, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Marengo, Ohio, on June 14, 1929, the son of the late Franklin and Grace (Burton) House.

James married Irma Faye Hart on Sept. 4, 1948, in Greenup, Ky. They were married for 67 years, and even in his 80’s he cared for her for nearly five years, up until her death on Jan. 1, 2016.

He is survived by his son, Gary House and his wife, Carol of Marengo; daughter, Terri Young and her husband, Larry of Marengo; grandchildren, Tricia Duncan, Todd (Amanda) Young, Bryn (Femi) Adeyanju, and Brittany House; seven great-grandchildren; his brother, Gene of Mount Gilead; and sisters-in-law, Janet House of Ostrander and Maxine Hart of Bonita Springs, Fla.

A private memorial service will take place at a later date.

The DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home of Marengo is honored to serve the House family.
