MOUNT VERNON — City residents arose Friday morning to find the streets slippery in spots, and salt trucks were on the streets by 7:30 a.m.
“It was the first thing crews did when they came in,” Street Superintendent Tom Hinkle said at the mayor’s weekly press briefing Friday.
Crews were not out early because no calls had been received from the Police Department reporting any problem areas, Hinkle added.
