MOUNT VERNON — Thomas A. Wilson Jr., 92, of Mount Vernon, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, at the Country Court Nursing Center.

He was born Jan. 10, 1924, in Columbus, to the late Thomas A. Wilson Sr. and Theresa Eva (Langer) Wilson. Thomas was a 1942 graduate of Gambier High School. He was employed as a salesman for Harris Motor Sales, Harris Oldsmobile-Cadillac and Houbler Oldsmobile-Cadillac. Thomas was member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Gambier High School Alumni Association, a 70 year member of the American Legion, Mount Vernon Elks Club, Mount Vernon Jaycees, Life Member of the Knox County Historical Society, and the Mount Vernon Country Club. He was a veteran serving in the United States Army (96th Infantry Division) in the Pacific Theater of war during World War II.

He is survived by two sons, Thomas D. (Linda) Wilson of Florida, Gregory H. (Cathy) Wilson of Texas; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his sister, Erva (Edward) Wagner of Florida.

In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Harris Wilson; his brother, John Wilson; and two sisters, Marilyn Lacoco and Shirley Ahern.

A memorial service will be held at a date to be announced.
