Myrtle Beach, S.C. — Harvey D. DeVore Sr., 77, of Greenwich Ohio, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at the Grand Strand Hospital.

He was born in Knox County on July 9, 1939, to Ralph and May (Sapp) DeVore, who both preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his wife, Wanda DeVore; a daughter, Melinda DeVore; a brother, Glenn DeVore; and a sister, Maxine.

Surviving are his children, Harvey D. (Vivian) DeVore Jr. of Salisbury, N.C., Tammy Knittel of Hastings, Fla., Thomas (Robin) DeVore of Elyria, Ohio, David DeVore of Greenwich, Ohio, and Michelle (Ron) Schuster and Danny DeVore of Columbus; his siblings, Gladys Moody of Newark, Paul DeVore of Danville, Byron DeVore of Union Grove, N.C., Dorothy Kelser of Mooresville, N.C., and Betty Sapp of Mount Vernon; 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Covenant Church, 13360 New Delaware Road, Mount Vernon, on Friday, Dec. 23. Pastor Tim Overly will officiate. Burial will follow in Tiverton Cemetery on SR 206 in Tiverton Township, Coshocton County. Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Friday at the church.

Memorial donations can be made to the Jimmy Swaggart Ministry, The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling arrangements.
