DANVILLE — The Danville school board on Monday voted to offer a free night class in English to adults with limited English-speaking abilities. The plan is to have a teacher and an interpreter conduct classes for up to two hours twice a week.

Treasurer Mary Payne told the News on Tuesday the idea is to help parents and family members of students who are learning English as a second language, so they can support the students. She said about a dozen people have already expressed an interest in taking the class.
